Continuing to experiment with black and white. This one was started with 3 values. All of the big shapes were laid in simply before going back to work the edges and add smaller shapes.

Black & White Demos

Been having fun lately doing black and white paint demos in my portrait class. As a transition for students going from tonal charcoal drawing into paint this is the first step they are taking. Before taking on the challenge of color this is a good opportunity to get used to handling paint while still working on their values and edges.
